Here’s how to transform your iPhone into a cute personal robot.
A few days ago Fast Company wrote about Jacob Tillman, a young skateboarder who is attempting to raise money on Indiegogo for his sister Lydia’s reconstructive jaw surgery. Lydia was raped, beaten, doused with bleach, and nearly burned to death—but because of her grace and resilience, she survived the horrific attack and helped convict her attacker.
Since our story about this initiative to crowdsource social justice first ran on Monday, other media outlets have followed suit—and Jacob’s Indiegogo coffers have grown from under $4,000 to over $36,000.
Jacob still has 87 days to reach his $65,000 goal.
“It’s also important to note that income tax is just one of several federal taxes.
The payroll tax, which funds Medicare and Social Security, is another big source of revenue for the government. And most households that don’t pay income tax do pay payroll tax.”
Mitt Romney’s comments regarding the 47 percent of Americans who pay no income tax is getting lots of attention today. Our colleague Mark Memmott explains the context.
Here’s a closer look at the numbers.
Guess who’s coming to The Office?
That’s right: Stephen Colbert will guest this season. Too bad Steve Carell won’t be around for an Even Stevphen rematch.
(Oh, you want to know who Colbert is playing? Well…)
On the 1st of October this year an online event will begin…
You may be aware that the BIGGEST threat facing polar bears today is the loss of the sea ice due to global warming. The sea ice is vital to the polar bears survival as it is there where they make their living. Scientists predict that two-thirds of the world’s polar bear population could disappear by 2050, however there is still hope if we take action to reduce our greenhouse gases.
Our activities we do daily are contributing to global warming by adding excessive amounts of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
By participating in this challenge you will be reducing your carbon footprint which will help these wonderful bears, other animals around the world and our planet… oh and those energy bills!.
I hope with this event I can show people just how easy it is to make small lifestyle changes in order to reduce greenhouse gases which added up can make a big difference.
Even if you are not sure on global warming, that’s okay, with this event you can challenge yourself to reduce those energy bills and save yourself some money.
You can find the event here.
